Obubu Cafe

Bringing An Authentic Kyoto Tea Experience to Travelers

Take a sip and unwind at Obubu Cafe as our tea sommelier demonstrates and delivers a perfect cup of Japanese tea. Obubu Cafe is located in one of Japan’s major department stores, Daimaru, in downtown Kyoto (see directions at the bottom of the page).

At the cafe you will be greeted by Hayato , our dedicated tea expert. His passion and knowledge of tea will guide you on your way to tea enlightenment. He is also conversational in English so feel free to ask questions when you stop by.

The cafe offers a selection of tea leaves brought straight from our tea fields in Wazuka, Kyoto. Hayato will teach you how to steep tea at the right temperature and how to pour tea the right way.
