We have been returning to Milin for several years. This year was the first time to hold tea events with the ProTea Academy. Simona got an opportunity to meet one of the founders – Salvatore in a Japan Tea Export Promotion Council organized tea program in 2017. Since then they stayed in touch and agreed to hold some tea activities together.
There were two events in Milan: Introduction to Japanese tea and a Matcha Workshop. The first focused more on Sencha and Gyokuro and had a tea brewing exercises. The second one, of course focused, on Matcha with a chance to make a bowl of Matcha yourself.
The events were held at a very unique location – a showroom of an Italian suit company – Vitale Barberis Canonico. It gave a subtle elegance and class to the event.
Among the participants there were also Tea Club members. And most people we so enticed by Japanese tea, that they stayed for both events.
We hope to come back next year and bring more Japanese tea to Milan
