Leicester Japanese Tea Party – 5th September, 2014

However much we like the UK, we cannot stay here forever, but before we left there was another stop in Leicester, a very historical city. Invited by our friend Tom and Hiromi Furniss to hold a shared event as the opening of their new Japanese shop, we could not refuse, and it proved to be a fun night with a modern twist.

While Japanese tea was available and we were ready to tell tea stories from Kyoto, the evening in classy bar Manhattan 34 asked for a modern approach. So the result was five tea cocktails using our tea from Wazuka. But what’s interesting, that even if someone started with a colorful cocktail, everyone eventually wanted to sip authentic tea and hear more about its origins. So we are happy that modern concepts can invite curiosity and interest back to tradition.
