技法：手びねり。篤庵の陶芸体験では、土としっかり向き合え、独創的な作品ができ、大量生産には向かない一点ものを作るための技法をオススメしています。ご自身でオリジナル作品を製作していただき、素焼き、塗り、本焼きを篤庵さんの釜で行います。
◾️齋藤篤子先生とは
齋藤篤子先生は、篤庵で陶芸教室・陶芸体験を行っている陶芸家です。和束の茶の木の灰の釉薬を使ったオリジナルの作品を手掛けています。自身の作品のお皿や食器を、朝食や夕食の食器にも使っており、器と料理のペアリングや、触感・見た目も楽しんでもらえるように心がけています。また2008年10月に京都市内から自分たちが、楽しく幸せに田舎暮らしができる住まいを探し、縁があり和束町に移住してきた代表の齋藤篤子と、夫の哲治の夫婦2人で営む、1日一組限定でゲストが心から寛げるプライベートな宿をコンセプトにし、2019年7月に設立した農家民泊施設も行っています。
A ticket to a pottery making class held by Atsuko-san, a local Wazuka resident who runs a pottery school and has been a ceramicist for 30 years.
Atsuko-san and her husband run a hostel in Wazuka, called Atsuan, and create pottery with local Wazuka grey glaze. With this tranquil experience, you’ll be able to hand-build your own cup or chawan!

- 1pm: Welcome Tea at our event space, instructive presentation about pottery
- 1:30 – 3pm: Make your own pottery with a professional Ceramicist Maker
Tour Language
Workshops are held in English and Japanese
Workshop Price
The tour is available for up to 20 people and is 5,500yen/person. The price includes:
- An interactive course on pottery making step by step
- A practical pottery making exercise with a professional
- 500 grams of clay to make : a tea bowl, a tea cup or a vase
- Firing and glazing of your item (shipment is not included in the price)
- Tea Tasting from Kyoto Obubu Tea Farms
Workshop Booking Steps:
Booking is required at least a week in advance to reserve your place on the workshop.
- To book your place on the workshop please select a date from the calendar at the bottom of the page.
- After submitting the booking form you will be directed to a payment page. Please make the payment at the time of the booking (you cannot return to the payment page afterwards).
- Your tour is reserved once the payment is confirmed (Stripe confirmation is regarded as the tour confirmation).
Cancellation:
- More than 14 days before the tour date: Full refund
- 14 – 7 days before the tour date: 80% refund
- 6 – 3 days before the tour date: 50% refund
- Less than 3 days before the tour date: No refund
- Booked through crowd funding: No refund
In case of a refund, we will refund you the amount after deducting Stripes’ Transfer and Booking Fees.
