Tina Bauer

Heidelberg, Germany

Intern #101

How would you describe the internship in three words?

Adventurous, educational, unique

What were your expectations from the internship before you came to Obubu?

I expected to learn everything about tea cultivation, processing and brewing.

Did the internship meet your expectations?

YES!

If you can change anything in the internship, what would it be?

During which period have you been to Obubu?

March – June

Which year have you been to Obubu?

2019

How was a typical day during your period?

So basically, there were 3 main types of days:

FARMING/PROCESSING – Spending the days in the tea fields either harvesting, shading or weeding and processing the tea in the factory afterwards

TEA TOURS – Host people from all over the world and teach them everything about Japanese teas

INSIDE – Help out with packing and labelling tea, or help one of the staff members with their projects

What was your best memory at Obubu?

I think one of my favorite memories is processing the tea in the factory with Akky-san, Kon-chan and the other interns. And also, the black tea- competition, where we were able to make our own batch of black tea!

What do you do now?

I am currently working on giving tea seminars in Germany.

Did the internship help you to reach your goals?

Definitely brought me closer.
